I’ve made myself a pulse carbine with integrated markerlight – for a Pathfinder/Gue’vesa cosplay, which BTW is almost finished too.
I decided to give weapon Ke’lshan gray/gold colouring instead of T’au default of orange/white.

Mont’ka tactics applied by hunter cadres of the Tau Empire rely on rapid deployment and concentration of massed firepower. While most popular way of it’s application are jetpack equipped battlesuits, other popular means are fast vehicles, among which Piranha skimmers are most widely deployed.
Piranha skimmers in tabletop game occupy Fast Attack slot (not the most crowded one in competitive list) and while they aren’t a very popular choice for some reason (Riptides, Skyrays and broadsides are generally considered as better), they can indeed be a reasonable choice when applied wisely.

Hello. Welcome to the third, and for now last, part of Siege Assault Vanguard overview, the gaming part.
Part 1
Part 2
It is best to assemble Siege Assault Vanguard army as an expansion to your existing space marine collection, with addition of few forgeworld bitz. Most of us have some space marines, usually from starter sets and such. Lots of us don’t play Marines competitively, becase i.e. we own rhino/infantry heavy armies, while currently most powerful choice happens to be gravgun equipped bikes. On the other hand Siege Assault Vangurd army list which by design doesn’t allow bikes is a perfect occasion to play our SM infantry. More than that: it is frequently easier to develop old infantry army into a SAV than into bike-heavy counts-as-whitescars.
Siege Masters can be assembled using a great Space Marine commander kit combined with leftover Signum from Devastator kit. You may want to give him stormshield or just magnetise his weapons to use him as a cool-looking veteran sergeant of your devastator squad.

While many sites report news about allegedly upcoming 7th (some call it 6.5th) edition, I believe it is not the case. All these rumors had one thing in common: integration of Escalation into core rules. I believe it is not the case, for if it was true, we would have Baneblade (and some of its variants) in recent Astra Militarum Codex.
I’m not basing this on any rumors – just recent releases. On the other hand it is not entirely impossible. If any of bright men and women at Games Workshop HQ reads it, please let me share what I would like to see in new edition. Apart from integration of Escalation and Stronghold Assault rules, which I still consider possible (and it would be appreciated by many players) but less likely than two weeks ago.

Tau frequently employ their subject species as auxiliaries. And even grim and xenophobic firewarriors of Ke’lshan are no exceptions in this respect. Among most common auxiliaries are kroot, who to a certain degree became mainstay of many hunter cadres, for even most proud fire caste coommanders value their skills in infiltration, stealth and close quarters combat.
Malcador Battle Tank is one of oldest and most venerable vehicles still in service at Astra Militarum in 41st millenium. In most panzer regiments it’s replaced by faster and more versatile Leman Russ tank.
It was not always this way. During Great Crusade Malcador Tanks were renowned for their high speed, but since then, as a result of technological decay Imperium has lost ability to properly worship their machine spirits and oil their engines. They become unreliable and weren’t performing as well as they used to.

Taking a break from FW army list series, let me share few thoughts on new Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) Codex. Long awaited codex which was surrounded by many speculations. For me, as a fan of Imperial Guard (although not an active IG player myself – I have just few models and never deployed them to battle), the codex contains few little surprises and a lot of disappointments.

Hello, it’s me again and this time I am about to discuss some details of awesome army list that is Siege Assault Vanguard. Given lot of positive feedback about my recent article, I am preparing Unit Overview of the renewed Siege Assault Vanguard army list.
Nice thing about this army list is that while it is a Forgeworld army list it is rather cheap to collect. If you have Codex Space Marine army, than you likely have at least 50% of models you need for your Siege Assault Vanguard, therefore you can just start with your standard Marines and add some SAV-specific / FW choices gradually.
As I have mentioned in earlier post, FOC is a little bit altered, but generally similar to standard one
Ever since I have read IA Badab War series (that is volumes nine and ten) I have wanted to assemble a Space Marine Siege Assault Vanguard force. Finally with recent Forgeworld Update to said Army List (taking account of the new Codex) I have decided to give it a try (especially as I have few models that are appropriate for this kind of army list).
