[WFB] Steam tank – scratchbuilt

Friday, May 16th, 2014

First model in my Empire army is Steam Tank, which I have made out of paper and matchsticks. Not only did it save me some money, but also gave me a lot of fun building it. If you want to learn more about steam tank, please visit excellent Lexicanum article detailing various kinds of imperial steam tanks.

Imperial Armour vol. 3 second edition: a review

Tuesday, May 13th, 2014

Volume 3: The Taros Campaign is a landmark of Imperial Armour series for it was the very book which established current IA book format consisting of both campaign fluff and detailed unit profiles (earlier 4 IA books were focused on descriptions of units only, not events).
IA3-2_Cover1
This book was released almost immediately after recent Tau Empire codex and contains all (barring few super heavies updated in IA Apoc) the rules for Forgeworld Tau Empire units as well as full army list for Elysian drop regiment.

Tournament scene in Poland and recent additions to the 6th edition

Monday, May 12th, 2014

This is translation of an article which was originally published in Polish Podsumowanie wpływu ostatnich zmian 6 edycji na rzeczywistosc turniejową w Polsce.

Some of my international readers (only about 30% of this blog’s readers are from Poland) may be interested in how Polish tournament scene have accepted recent additions to 40k 6th edition.

I have recently browsed Polish 40k league forums and checked rulesets for tournaments in various places. Since March (release of Imperial Knight codex) there were 38 tournaments in our country.

On 7 of them Escalation rules were used and on 11 IK codex was allowed. In most cases Destroyer Weapons were homeruled as S:10 with some additions (armourbane, instant death, ignores cover, but nothing consistent).

I don’t know if it’s good that SH vehicles are becoming common on tournaments, but this unequal approach of some Tournament Organizers (where Imperial Knights are OK but Lords of War are not) appears to be a bit irrational.

7th edition reactions: unbelieving and fear?

Monday, May 12th, 2014

Of rumors on upcoming 7th edition, most widely discussed are:
- Unbound army-lists
- Demonology (no one knows how it is supposed to work but it is assumed that it allows to summon greater daemon at psykers will)
- Magic Phase (in principle just like in WHFB)
- Reinventing allies chart
- Inclusion of Escalation rules in core rulebook (Lords of War)

Empire is awesome

Top 10 reasons why I have started collecting the Empire in Warhammer (and not any new faction of Empire in Warhammer 40k)
Sigmar_Icon
- Sigmar is most powerful warhammer character ever. He united tribes of men, personally slaughtered thousands of orks and his empire stands undefeated 25 centuries later.
- He also didn’t allow Horus Heresy like his 40k counterpart.

[PL] Podsumowanie wpływu ostatnich zmian 6 edycji na rzeczywistosc turniejową w Polsce

Saturday, May 10th, 2014

This article is in Polish only.

Primaris Lightning Interceptor w/ ground attack option

Saturday, May 3rd, 2014

One of the greatest interceptor fighters used by Legiones Astartes during Great Crusade and Horus Heresy was Primaris Lightning. It was a fast maneuverable aircraft capable of delivering overwhelming firepower. While it wasn’t extremely durable, it was piloted by skillful space marine legionaries capable of extreme evasive maneuvers. After those events Lightning jetplanes were mostly abandoned by Space Marine chapters, and their new pattern (which isn’t performing as well as heresy-era ones) is used almost exclusively by Imperial Navy

Biker Marines – tactica

Friday, May 2nd, 2014

As I have mentioned earlier, I am going to repost all the articles, I have originally written in Polish, this time translated. While it was written in early January, it isn’t yet outdated although it’s worth mentioning that new Tyranids (due to spam of vector striking FMCs) and Astra Militarum (due to hordes of cheap infantry) are going to be thogh enemies for you.
